With Thanksgiving a little over a week away and Christmas soon after, I have been thinking a lot lately about traditions. My husband and I have slowly begun adding new traditions to the holiday season and even more so now that we have our baby.
This year, we are celebrating Thanksgiving in our own home. We did this last year as well, since Becca was only a few weeks old, and we weren’t up for traveling. We found that it is so much more relaxing to spend the day cooking, napping, and watching football- and of course the Thanksgiving Day Parade!
This year, not only are we planning to cook another turkey, but we are also already scouting out some Black Friday shopping. This is a tradition that we have been doing since we were dating. We are all about finding a good deal, but not so much about the large crowds. So, you will often find us scouring the leftovers after the crowds have died down.
One thing I love to look for on Black Friday are deals on Christmas movies. We have started a tradition with Becca where we get her a new pair of Christmas pajamas and a movie and watch it together the week of Christmas. We also give her a gift or two. It’s our way of celebrating Christmas together as a little family before we begin all the traveling, and it’s honestly one of my favorite traditions of the year!
Christmas shopping has to be my all time favorite tradition because I love finding gifts for other people. Now that we have a child of our own, shopping has become even more fun (and sometimes scary for my husband).
Not only do we buy Becca a few toys and some clothes as her gifts, but I am also always on the hunt for stocking stuffers! And, this year, I have already finished her stocking shopping!
When looking for things to stuff in a toddler’s stocking, I think of small little toys or books that will easily fit in there. Becca has a huge stocking, so this isn’t really a challenge for us!
This year, I teamed up with IncrediBundles Baby Gifts and was able to purchase everything I need to stuff Becca’s stocking. IncrediBundles is such an amazing company because it offers its customers the option to purchase pre-made gift bundles that go along with a certain theme. For example, if you are headed to a baby shower, you may be interested in the gift bundle of a year’s worth of diapers! What mom wouldn’t absolutely love you for thinking of such a practical gift?! You can also search for appropriate bundles by age group or function. If you choose to purchase a pre-made bundle, it will arrive in a beautiful box that is pretty enough to be on display as storage in any nursery. Or, you can choose to create your own bundle, personalized toward the one you are giving it to, which is the option I went with.
Because she LOVES books, it was easy for me to search through the collection of books IncrediBundles has to offer. At Becca’s age, board books, lift the flap books, and touch-and-feel are so much fun! I was able to find several options that we don’t have in our library to give her as Christmas gifts in her stocking.
Given $50 to purchase a selection of books and toys, I looked for options that I know will keep Becca’s interest and serve as skill builders at the same time. That’s the great thing about IncrediBundles– they keep your child’s education at the forefront and offer great options to enrich your child’s learning. With $50 at hand, I purchased a collection of 5 books and one stacking toy to fill out the stocking this year!
IncrediBundles is graciously offering one lucky reader the chance to win a $50 gift card to get a head start on Christmas shopping!! Yay!! And, with free shipping with a purchase of $49, you won’t even have to pay shipping fees. Meaning, all of the gift card can go toward great gifts for your child/grandchild/niece/nephew/neighbor/or even as a donation to a local charity! The possibilities are endless!
