Ahhhh!! I have missed being behind this keyboard! I apologize for the slight blogging hiatus that just took place, but that’s what the holidays are good for, right?
I’ll be honest with you, I lost most of my motivation to blog over the past month. Truthfully, I lost my motivation to do lots of things the past month! But, I have been spending some very quality time with my sweet girl and husband, so I don’t consider it time wasted.
Here’s an update on what’s been going on since the last time we caught up:
My amazing hubby got me a Silhouette machine for Christmas…and I’m addicted!! With any spare time I’ve had the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to figure out all the cool things I can make with this miraculous invention. So far, I’ve made Becca several shirts and am about to tackle her Valentine’s Day present in the next few days. Stay tuned for pictures!
We have a walker! If you would have asked me a month ago if Becca would be walking right now, I probably would have shook my head no. But, boy, did she really take off one day. Literally. She practically runs across the floor now, and we very rarely see any crawling. Crazy how fast something takes off once it starts with these little ones!
Before Christmas, Becca was waking twice in the night like clockwork. When we went to visit family, she would only sleep if she was lying on top of my husband. As you can imagine, that made for some long, sleepless nights. As soon as we returned home, it was like a switch flipped, and she is now sleeping straight through the night for 11 hours! I hate to possibly jinx our good fortune, but I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that this continues.
There have been very few days here when the temperature gets above 30 degrees, and most of the time, it’s actually in the single digits. This has made the last few weeks kind of difficult, as both Becca and I tend to go stir crazy sitting in the house all day. What I wouldn’t give to be able to go for a walk! We try to get out of the indoor slump by taking trips to the store or going out to eat with daddy. I’m sure there are many of you who can relate to this!
We are so blessed to have found a great church to be members of! I recently started attending the women’s group at our church, which is a great chance to have some “me” time during the week. It makes such a difference to be able to gather with other like-minded women and grow together in faith. We just started a six week series on “Unstuffed” by Ruth Soukup. I’m excited to dive more into it in the coming weeks!
Just this past week, I decided to join Usborne Books & More as an independent consultant. Two of my good friends (and roommates) from college have brought me onto their team, and I cannot wait to get started! Even though we live hundreds of miles from each other now, I’m so thankful for this opportunity to connect with them through a company that we love! It seems like we have way more books than we need, but we can’t seem to get enough. Each night we are reading about 10 books, so we need lots and lots of material to keep it from getting too repetitive for mommy and daddy 🙂 I can’t wait to help spread our love of literacy to other families. If you’re interested in hosting a Facebook party or want more info, let me know! The host benefits right now are AMAZING!
Okay, I think you are all caught up on our lives! I hope to be more present on here and get some new posts going soon! What are you doing this season to keep yourself from going stir crazy in the house?!
